The Cabinet Office is in the process of advertising for two Lay Members to join the Manx Utilities Board. The changes are taking place as a result of Mr Chris Allen announcing his intention to resign with effect from the end of May 2019.

Chairman, Dr Alex Allinson MHK said, “We will be extremely sorry to see Chris leave the Manx Utilities Board.  Since his appointment by Tynwald on 21 April 2015 he has been an extremely active member of the team whose duties included Chairing our Environment Council and maintaining an active involvement working with staff regarding corporate health, safety and environmental performance in addition to attending standard Board Meetings.  Chris brought to the Board his extensive engineering experience and professionalism and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris for his support over the last 4 years and wish him well for the future.”

Mr Allen said, “I have really enjoyed my time on the Board which comprises some very capable people, has strong governance and processes.  Unfortunately my circumstances at work have changed requiring more time away from the Island so I felt it appropriate to stand down.  Manx Utilities is a well-run organisation with really good people and I wish them every success in the future.”
