Following the Chief Minister’s announcement yesterday Manx Utilities’ Headquarters will only be accessible to support Key Meter Prepay Customers between 08:30 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 to 16:30 on Friday with all other non-essential customer counter support ceasing from 12noon today; 6 January 2021.  Those who do require top-ups at the Customer Counter are requested to adhere to the 2 metre social distancing directions in place and wear a face-covering.

As during the previous period of restrictions, Manx Utilities is committed to supporting all customers through this challenging time and appreciate that there are a number of vulnerable customers who will have some serious concerns regarding essential supplies, particularly those with medical needs. Customers can still contact the team for emergency support via 687687, 24 hours a day.  Should customers have any concerns about their electricity and water supplies or sewerage services or payments they should contact the customer services team via enquiries@manxutilities.im or call 687687.

To further support Key Meter Prepay Customers the emergency credit remains at the uplifted limit of £30 from the standard £6.  The standing charge and any debt repayment will be suspended during the emergency credit period, however, they will be collected on the next top-up.   Prepay customers do have a ‘friendly do not disconnect’ period between 8pm and 8am, all day Sunday and Bank Holidays. This provides continuation of electricity supplies until a top-up can be obtained.

For other operational support, staff contact with our customers will be for fault operational responses only to maintain essential services.  Water sampling will cease in properties. This will be conducted directly on the water distribution network to maintain water quality.  The routine reading of electricity and water meters will also cease.

 

Manx Utilities’ support teams have now initiated segregated working measures to ensure it can maintain all customer essential services.
