Solar

Across our energy transition programme, we are progressing a range of renewable generation and supporting technologies designed to strengthen the Island’s energy security and reduce reliance on fossil fuel generation. This includes the development of utility scale solar solutions including rooftop generation on public estate buildings, ground mounted and even floating solar.

Looking ahead, this work forms a core pillar of the wider transition pathway that aims to decarbonise the Island’s electricity system by 2030. As we move through design, approvals, procurement and delivery, we will continue to share updates at meaningful milestones. Not every step requires a public update, but where activity may affect local areas, requires surveys or marks a significant point in the programme, we will ensure the community is informed. We remain committed to transparently developing the infrastructure needed for a sustainable future while ensuring that public assets are used responsibly and in a way that delivers long term benefit for the Island.
