Water pumping stations
Pumping stations are used to increase water pressure when there is an insufficient difference in water levels in gravity flow distribution systems. Due to the Island's hilly topography pumping stations assist in getting water to our customers' taps. There are currently 20 pumping stations around the Island.
Our pumping stations are equipped with pump control panels that include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), which monitor reservoir levels, water pressure and flow rates. The system can immediately identify any pump failures and automatically switch operations to standby pumps as and when required.
