Restrictions on the Use of Water

Manx Utilities are introducing a temporary use ban (Hosepipe Ban) from 5 June 2020.  The ban is being introduced due to the extremely dry period the Island has been experiencing with long spells of sunshine from mid-March. The small periods of rainfall have yielded little in terms of topping up the Island’s reservoirs and demand has increased.

Manx Utilities set to upgrade all electricity meters on the Island

Manx Utilities has announced a major investment in a new metering system, the first stage of which will be to replace ageing key meters with new smart meters which can be topped up online and over the counter to ensure full accessibility. The first installation of these meters will commence in 2020.

Castletown Road sites to be returned to nature

Ramsey Power Station plant decommission

Flood risk works underway in Douglas

Construction work has commenced at the Old Noble’s Hospital car park to install an underground storm water storage tank to help manage flood flows from the Ballakermeen Road catchment. The scheme, which is expected to be completed in May 2019 will serve to reduce the flooding experienced on Peel Road and the Hills Meadow Industrial Estate.
